Learning to Look

In September, Learning to Look (LTL) begins its 12th year.

As past participants know, LTL is a parent/child art appreciation program that uses interactive dialogue and hands-on activities to foster an understanding and interest in the arts….similar to a book-club format.  Children and parents throughout the Chappaqua district come together for LTL either as part of our middle school program or our elementary school program.

After six Wednesday evening sessions scheduled throughout the school year, the program culminates with a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the spring.

Learning to Look is a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to learn together,  jointly developing a lifelong interest in the arts!

The middle school curriculum for the 2010-2011 school year, “Ancient and Classical Art,” and will delve into artifacts and ruins from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome.
