Seven Bridges Vision and Mission

We are a community of explorers.  In our school, every student thinks hard every day. Seven Bridges students practice creativity and are committed to learning and growth. They are good writers and speakers who express themselves well in many media. They persevere when things get tough, learning that struggle is part of the journey. They are open-minded and at ease collaborating and cooperating with others. They respect each other and show empathy, volunteering to be leaders when they can be and followers when they should be. Students are aware that their actions make a difference in the Seven Bridges community and beyond.

On Thursday, January 19th, we will hold two separate Parent Coffees with Martha and Greg.

Our morning coffee is open to all parents and will be held at 9:30am in the Lower Commons. We will hold an open discussion to review the new middle school reconfiguration recently announced by Lyn McKay. This is an excellent opportunity to discuss the impact of these changes at 7B next year.

Our evening coffee is dedicated to parents of our 7th and 8th graders. This session will be held in the Lower Commons at 7:30pm and will be an open discussion focused on supporting our middle schoolers in building respectful relationships.

We recognize that this is such a busy time, but hope that you will be able to join us for one or both of these sessions.

Chappaqua Young Writers' Conference - March 17

Chappaqua Young Writers' Conference, March 17th, 2012(8am-12pm)

The Young Writers' Conference needs you!

The YWC is a one day writers workshop that is attended by approximately 150 4th-6th graders. It is a unique opportunity to be involved in a special committee that inspires our future leaders. This is a Chappaqua PTA event involving all schools.

This year's conference boasts an impressive roster of highly talented and acclaimed presenters including writers, editors, producers, news correspondents, documentary and screenplay writers, and other professionals.

But we are only half way there - we really need a few more people to join the committee and give us a hand. The majority of work takes place the day of the event but there is still some planning left to do.

In addition, we are still welcoming anyone who would like to present a workshop. If you have a talent - think about sharing it with the kids in your community.

If you are interested in joining the committee please contact Lisa Zimbalist Bianchi at Zimbalistbianchi@gmail.comor (914) 325-0607.

Now That The Paving Project Is Completed...

With our parking lot completed, it is now easier to enter and exit our school. To keep traffic moving in and out of 7B, especially on Mondays and Wednesdays, it is always best to utilize the late buses that are available for all students.

If you must pick up your child, try to carpool and remember to follow these instructions:

Cars enter the SB circle and stay to the right. Buses will pass on the left and enter the inner loop. The inner loop is closed to cars at 2:00pm. Cars should line-up on the right side of the circle, next to the SB garden. If this line is full, continue around the campus (as if you were at the airport) and drive to the back of the line. Please do not stop at the top of the driveway. If you should find that you are waiting more that a few minutes,  reenter the flow of traffic and continue around the campus until you see your student in the area near the SB Garden. This continued flow will allow other cars access to the school.   Another option is to park in the parking lot, get out of your car and pick up students at the main entrance. Once students have entered the car, please exit promptly. The inner loop will re-open for traffic at 3:45. The map below illustrates the plan. The blue line is for cars. The red line is for buses.

For the safety of everyone, i
t is essential that the entry to the school remain open.

Thanks for your help in keeping our children safe and our traffic moving!
